Teresa Zaffarano creates her abstract art with oil paints, but she plans to return to acrylics and even watercolors, when she manages to understand them.
Teresa became interested in abstract art after visiting an art show with Sue Hettmansperger. She describes Sue’s work as amazing.
“Her pieces were engaging in a way I'd never seen before--if you stared at them long enough,” said Teresa, “it seemed like they moved with a life of their own.”
After seeing the show, Teresa wanted to do something similar, so she started tracing with her hand in thin oil paint. “A lot of it becomes a balancing act," said Teresa, "if I become too attached to how a piece looks before working on it, I run the risk of making mistakes and ruining it.”
Teresa is currently looking for a way to support herself, but, one day, she would like to teach classes.
