What is the Community?

Black Bird Community is a new society of artists. That means it's a place designed with you in mind!

Black Bird Cares about Your Art

At Black Bird, we're crazy about art and artists. We like to see new artists, like you, succeed. We're artists too, and we know first-hand the struggle that any new writer, illustrator, or musician faces when starting out. Gaining an audience for your creative products is an enormous challenge. Don't worry - we're here to make it easier. We promise to be there for you so you can do what you love: make art!

Resources

We provide many free resources for you: a main gallery, personal galleries, and a social environment in which to share your art.

What Does It Cost?

It's totally free! And we do mean free. Black Bird is a non-profit organization.

Buying and Selling Art

You're welcome to buy or sell art. Just make sure you follow the local and federal regulations regarding those sorts of transactions.

How to Become a Member

1. Go to the Sign Up page.
2. Enter the required information.
3. Activate your account at the email address you provided.
4. Log In with your username and password.

The Staff

Blake Griffin

Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Blake Griffin of UNDEREXPOSED: Alternative Photography has his Bachelors of Arts with a concentration in film and photography, from Montana State University - Bozeman. Fully capable working at 24 frames per second, he prefers however, to take things one shot at a time.

Maggie Bales

29 yr old mother of two. I work in Administration, and moonlight as a poet and writer when I can find the time. Working on my first fiction novel.

Moses Powell Eckstein

I am an illustrator, painter, writer, and designer. I also like to sing karaoke, dance, and explore artsy venues.

Sarah Horne

Writer, occasional artist, hippie and pretend pirate. :) I like to write about the world with a poet's eye and sometimes a Terry Pratchett-style hat. I love the absurd, the strange, the beautiful, the sublime. I’m a bit bonkers but (I like to believe!) in a good way! :) I love to read stories that break down barriers, reminding us of the sheer magic of simply being alive. If I can ever touch anyone through my writing, I am deeply grateful to be able to do so. Life is so fragile; I love writing that brings us back to a sense of wonder, magic, and fun! :)
